The spaces occupied by men and women are filled with meaning and history. In the traditional family model, the roles are assigned as woman-caregiver and man-provider. In Mexico, in recent decades, women have attained higher levels of schooling than men and their participation in the labor market has increased, causing changes in family structures. According to Puwal, women who occupy positions defined for men must adopt male lifestyles and their traditional role is left at the expense of others. The objective of this article is to investigate whether childcare responsibilities and household chores continue to be assumed by women who are in management positions and whose income is higher than fifteen thousand pesos per month.
