Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to show the results of the application of a census survey to the school population of the 2015-2018 cohort of a high school in eastern Morelos, to identify the perception of students about the main national problems, their assessment of the performance of the executive branch administrations at both the federal and state levels, and the voting intentions of that population. It is worth remembering that they enter high school as adolescents (15 years old) and three years later they graduate as citizens. Together with the slow progress of the country's democratic life, it is evident that citizenship and political-electoral education is weak in a large part of the population, especially among young people who are just beginning to exercise their citizenship. In the educational sphere, the curricular adjustments aimed at teenagers and young people have not achieved the desired effects.
