Abstract

This article reflects on the effects of the current technological revolution on art and culture, as well as on the short-term future of these changes. Faced with a tradition that questions the possibility of a relationship between art and technology, and the contemporary relativism that complicates the dialogue between cultural spheres, it recovers the thesis that the history of art can be read in a universal key. That is, in terms of technological progress, an approach that goes back to the thinkers of classical antiquity, who understood art as a tékne intended to imitate nature. The need to question this transformation, as well as the modes and effects of the convergence between art and technology, is emphasized.
