Abstract

The aim of this article is to approach the treatment of some of the topics framed in the intersection between social or cultural anthropology and the study of cognition. As an introduction to the subject, the authors explain the background of the field of knowledge that is anthropology, as well as the importance of culture within this discipline. In particular, it refers to cognitive anthropology, a field that began to develop in the United States in the middle of the twentieth century and that gained strength and followed new paths in the eighties and nineties in France. Therefore, a review is made of some of the concepts that delimited the different lines of research in this field of study. One of the most important factors in cognitive anthropology is the language that reflects the culture of the natives in a region.
