The objective of this article is to describe the bacteria Anaplasma marginale and to highlight the repercussions that can be observed in cattle farming. Among the diseases it causes are anemia and jaundice, as well as a decrease in milk production, abortions and, in extreme cases, death. This disease is transmitted by Rhipicephalus micro plus ticks. In Mexico, there is no effective method to eliminate these bacteria. This is why we seek to implement technologies to prevent its development and avoid the loss of cattle. This article explains the main characteristics of this bacteria, starting with its genetic diversity and studying its genome for the development of vaccines made of different proteins, which are adapted to achieve the goal of eradicating the bacteria.
