Abstract

Reproduction in fishes is regulated by environmental factors, social and chemical coupled with constant changes in water temperature, variables that have great importance in the production and release of reproductive hormones and pheromones. The fishes have adapted according to the most favorable season to their reproductive strategy. But how do fishes perceives environmental factors? How do males and females synchronize for simultaneous spawning? The purpose of this article is to understand how fishes capture environmental factors and how they translate them to be able to reproduce, important information to optimize reproduction and conservation in situ, in aquaculture or research centers.
