An invitation is extended to read this work (which on March 17, 2022, was three hundred years since its publication), and some points of interest are noted about both its author and the plot of the novel and some implications of associating the noun visit with the advent of the plague. The article is linked to the experience of 21st century mankind in the face of the covid-19 pandemic.
