Abstract

The central objective of this research is to provide an explanation of the terms retrotopia and utopia in order to create a reflection from anachrony and anachronism. For this purpose, the author uses as a reference the sociologist Zygmunt Bauman and his concept of retrotopia; what stands out is the idea that is still very latent about an ethical-political Utopia, which during history has always been thought; but the construction of humanity has always elaborated a chaotic world where utopia has been unreal, since society has lived with the feelings of fear, anguish, worry, pain, and with the violence generated mainly by the media capitalism of post-truth. The author argues that we live in this excess of the future that makes us feel anxious, but also with this excess of the past that produces melancholy, and that is exactly the role that anachrony plays in our lives.
