Nonlinear analysis of cancer dynamics
Keywords:
mutations in the genome, gene interaction, nonlinear dynamics, properties, complex systemsAbstract
Cancer is one of the most prevalent complex diseases worldwide and the increase in cases is due to greater exposure to risk factors largely related to lifestyle. These factors can interact with genes that modulate cell growth and differentiation and produce mutations or alterations in the genome. Such mutations induce a change in the dynamics of gene interactions within the cell and, consequently, modify the stability of the gene regulatory networks characteristic of each cellular phenotype. In this paper we study gene regulatory networks in the mathematical theory of nonlinear dynamics and their properties, which make them an essential part of the theory of complex systems.
