In Mexico, floriculture can be practiced based on climatic conditions. For example, a tropical plant’s characteristics are shaped by altitude, latitude, temperature, precipitation, etc.; this allows us to introduce the reader to the distinctive features of this type of climate, with a particular focus on platanillos. These plants hold economic, social, cultural, and environmental value; they are used in floral arrangements, religious ceremonies, food, therapy, and even as plants capable of purifying graywater or contaminated water. Given this, we invite you to explore their value as a new way of cultivating a culture of flowers, taking into account both human health and the health of production systems.
